Plot
A man and his family (his two kids and his second wife) move from a city to a farm out in the countryside, to their mother's house of her childhood. On the way, they meet up with a dog who had been abandoned after her owner died in a car crash. The daughter says that it is the dog Lassie from a TV show and therefore the dog is now named Lassie. The son has a bit of an issue adjusting to the countryside {"No MTV?!"} but, with the help of Lassie, he starts to learn that the country isn't all bad. In fact, he is getting in touch with his deceased mother's juvenile life. Turns out that his mother wanted to become a farmer like her family and to have a sheep dog also. As the family tries to settle down and start a farm, the tension with the neighbors increases and disputes [country style] occur. Can the family survive? Can the farm survive? Will Lassie help the family improve themselves as well as protect the farm/family?

Rating Criteria
0/5 – No value whatsoever. Absolute waste of time.
1/5 – Barely worth any time.
2/5 – Pathetic but has a bit of something to hold the attention a little.
3/5 – Somewhat kept the attention but could definitely have used more.
4/5 – Good, but not awe-strikingly amazing. Could have maybe used a bit more to the movie.
5/5 – Go see it! Wonderful movie all around – characters, music, theme, story line, etc.

3.5/5 -
Honestly, I wasn't very interested in this movie. Don't get me wrong; it is a good movie. I just didn't find it super thrilling. It is a good story about adapting to the country style of life after leaving a city and tells a good tale about family coming together to survive/thrive. However, it is not high on my list of "movies to rewatch" due to a slow tempo in the storyline.
