Movie Review - "The ABCs of Death" 04/26/2013 UK

This is a movie review for "The ABCs of Death", released April 26, 2013 in the UK. I watched this via Netflix.

Trailer

This movie is a "26-chapter anthology that showcases death in all its vicious wonder and brutal beauty." Basically, twenty-six directors came together to do twenty-six miniature clips, each about a specific letter. Some were as simple as "D is for Dogfight" whereas others were more difficult to guess ["A is for Apocalypse"]. The styling behind each depended on the directors, as there were a few animated or Claymation clips alongside the real-life acting clips.

Rating Criteria
0/5 – No value whatsoever. Absolute waste of time.
1/5 – Barely worth any time.
2/5 – Pathetic but has a bit of something to hold the attention a little.
3/5 – Somewhat kept the attention but could definitely have used more.
4/5 – Good, but not awe-strikingly amazing. Could have maybe used a bit more to the movie.
5/5 – Go see it! Wonderful movie all around – characters, music, theme, story line, etc.

4/5 - I liked this anthology. It was gory at times and hilarious at others. I specifically liked the game of guessing what the word was for the letter (since the title came at the end of the clip). It was disorienting to be thrown into the anthology immediately because it didn't have a title for the "A" word, but once you get used to it, it isn't a bad collection.

If you like imagination regarding the subject of death, you should really check this out. However, if you are not a fan of horror (as some would categorize this), you should stay away from this.
