Rating Criteria
0/5 – No value whatsoever. Absolute waste of time.
1/5 – Barely worth any time.
2/5 – Pathetic but has a bit of something to hold the attention a little.
3/5 – Somewhat kept the attention but could definitely have used more.
4/5 – Good, but not awe-strikingly amazing. Could have maybe used a bit more to the movie.
5/5 – Go see it! Wonderful movie all around. – characters, music, theme, story line, etc.

4/5 - *SPOILERS* NOT FOR SQUEAMISH PEOPLE!!

Simplistic plotline: sci-fi prison escape movie. I think it was well done though very simple. The mathematics needed to figure out if a room was trapped or not and how to get out (permutations) was very cool. It was also pretty awesome how almost everyone had something to offer to the puzzle - the math whiz, the handicap guy with a thing for factors, etc - or had some other connection. The question as to why everyone was in the cube was not really answered but it did show how some people will turn more good or more malevolent when under stress.

I have watched it once more since the original viewing and I still enjoy it. It is as horrific as Saw with such underlining reasoning as Saw does. It really is a study on how humans react in stressful situations but also a tribute to mathematics. The graphics for the traps are awesome. There were sound activated traps, motion sensor traps, heat sensor traps, etc. Acid, razor wires, stabbing metal, etc. As a Saw fan, I loved this part of the movie so much though people could not survive the traps like the Saw traps and could not learn from it.

Here is Rennes with the acid trap:

Anyways, I would watch this movie again, for sure. I think it is below the Saw franchise (especially the first 3) but it is a good horror movie in my opinion.

That's my movie review! Thanks for reading. More reviews are to come eventually so keep an eye out.
