Plot

An orphan boy hears the language of music everywhere around him. He is a genius at music, hearing music in everything he hears (including a basketball game, taxi cabs, etc). He also believes that his mother and father have heard music and that, if he plays the song he hears, they will find him again. Can he get his song out there for them to hear? Will his parents hear the song? Can they get together again?

Rating Criteria
0/5 – No value whatsoever. Absolute waste of time.
1/5 – Barely worth any time.
2/5 – Pathetic but has a bit of something to hold the attention a little.
3/5 – Somewhat kept the attention but could definitely have used more.
4/5 – Good, but not awe-strikingly amazing. Could have maybe used a bit more to the movie.
5/5 – Go see it! Wonderful movie all around. – characters, music, theme, story line, etc.

4.5/5 -  *SPOILERS*
Very good movie about music and trying to reunite with family. I downgraded the movie for missing parts about Wizard's background (and his jerk/abusive/controlling side), no clear ending for the kid at the home for boys nor Arthur, and no epilogue to say what happens with August and his parents. Wonderful pro-music movie with lovely music.

Here's Evan (aka "August Rush") and Louis playing guitars together in the park before they even knew they were related.

August's Rhapsody was wonderful and made me cry, but I had to watch it twice in a row.  See August's Rhapsody here:

I did have an issue with the fact that no one else in the crowd was looking around and whatnot except his parents.... I mean, reality check please? That many people, you'd think at least a few people would be looking around as they listen.

If you like music, this is an amazing tale. If you like the idea of hope to reunite families, this is an amazing tale. I HIGHLY recommend this movie to anyone: kid, adult, or elderly. I would definitely keep this in my library, though this is in my roommate's collection.

That's my movie review. Thanks for reading! More reviews to come.
