Movie Review: "Swearnet: The Movie" 08/29/14 CANADA

This is a movie review for "Swearnet: The Movie", originally released August 29, 2014 in Canada. We watched this about September of 2019 because my hon likes Trailer Park Boys.

*SPOILERS* NOT for "sensitive" people and children because of the record amount of profanity.

Genre:  Comedy
Run Time: 1 Hour and 52 Minutes

Trailer

Notable Cast

Robb Wells ... Robb Wells
John Paul Tremblay ... John Paul Tremblay
Mike Smith ... Mike Smith
Patrick Roach ... Pat / Swearman
Tom Green ... Tom Green

Plot

The Trailer Park Boys (Robb Well "Ricky", John Paul Tremblay "Julian", and Mike Smith "Bubbles") want to continue their show but have a hard time finding a place to be able to show it. The main problem is censoring - the networks just don't like the fact that the three boys and their cast swear "too much". So, what else can the boys do but create their own network? Hence the birth of Swearnet! But what kind of problems will they get into?

Rating Criteria
0/5 – No value whatsoever. Absolute waste of time.
1/5 – Barely worth any time.
2/5 – Pathetic but has a bit of something to hold the attention a little.
3/5 – Somewhat kept the attention but could definitely have used more.
4/5 – Good, but not awe-strikingly amazing. Could have maybe used a bit more to the movie.
5/5 – Go see it! Wonderful movie all around. – characters, music, theme, story line, etc.

3/5 - It was kinda funny to watch the three TPB guys in a movie but the plot line was fairly lame. I think the whole purpose for the movie was to see how many times they could swear in the allotted time frame. For this, they were very VERY successful as they rack up 935 "fuck" words in the movie, which is a Guinness World record. The movie also does have other profanity words such as "shit" and "cock", so it isn't monopolized on "fuck".

I find it interesting that Mike supposedly gave a nasty man a blowjob to make up to Robb and JP for the jerk moves that he did earlier and that brought the three friends (eventually) back together as friends.

The three guys aren't much like their TPB characters but it still seems like JP is more like Julian than the other two to their characters.

I personally thought the movie was funny and was "worth" watching but would not want to watch again anytime soon. If you want to watch it, go for it. It might make more sense to those that watch TPB (now on Netflix, at least in the USA!) but it is still strange.

Anyways, I have nothing else to say about this so that's my movie review. Thanks for reading! More reviews are to come eventually.
