A writer of mystery novels (Tess Thorne) is suggested to take a scenic route (by Ramona Norvell) to get back from an author's appearance speaking. "I can save you an hour drive" back. Everything sounds great but then she gets a flat tire and is attacked, left for dead. After she gets home and tries to wrap her head around everything, she realizes that she might have been set up. How can she get justice for what happened?
Rating Criteria
0/5 – No value whatsoever. Absolute waste of time.
1/5 – Barely worth any time.
2/5 – Pathetic but has a bit of something to hold the attention a little.
3/5 – Somewhat kept the attention but could definitely have used more.
4/5 – Good, but not awe-strikingly amazing. Could have maybe used a bit more to the movie.
5/5 – Go see it! Wonderful movie all around. – characters, music, theme, story line, etc.
3.5/5 - *SPOILERS*
NOT FOR CHILDREN. Tess is raped in this movie and it is VIOLENT and gory. She is left for dead afterwards. I was sickened by this movie because it is so realistic. I was honestly wanting to turn this movie off but my roommate (this hit closer to home for her) was still interested in watching it. For a Stephen King movie, this is the worst I have seen.
She seems to lose her mind during the movie, talking to her fictional book characters. In the end, her character supported her to do what she did to get revenge. Is it the way that she should have gone about dealing with this? I don't know but it was very difficult to watch.
I would not be interested in watching this movie again in the future, even though it is a Stephen King movie. I don't know if I would even read the tale if there is a novelette version of it...
Anyways, that's my movie review. Thanks for reading. More reviews to come eventually.
